Metaphor beyond poetry

7. 3. 2019 od 16h

Metaphor is traditionally perceived as a kind of language decoration used in poetry and rhetoric, as something we can do without. At the lecture we will see that we can in no way do without metaphor, that it permeates our thinking and our everyday life, and that it greatly affects how we look at the world. We will also stop and think about how metaphors are created and what other purposes they serve in language.
